In / On / At – Prepositions of Place

Ces trois prépositions sont souvent confondues car elles décrivent toutes où quelque chose se trouve. Voici comment choisir la bonne.

Préposition	Usage	Exemple
in	dans un espace fermé	She is in the kitchen. → Elle est dans la cuisine.
on	sur une surface	The book is on the table. → Le livre est sur la table.
at	à un point ou adresse	He is at the bus stop. → Il est à l'arrêt de bus.

We live in Paris.
→ Nous habitons à Paris.

The painting is on the wall.
→ Le tableau est sur le mur.

She's waiting at the door.
→ Elle attend à la porte.

They arrived at 15 Rue Lafayette.
→ Ils sont arrivés au 15 rue Lafayette.

❌ I live on France. → ✅ in France

❌ He's in the station. (si pas à l'intérieur) → ✅ at the station

Choisissez in / on / at :

Solutions :

1. on / 2. at / 3. on

in = à l'intérieur d'un lieu

on = sur une surface

at = point fixe ou adresse
