"Good afternoon! What seems to be the problem with your pet today?"
Pet Owner:
"Hi, my cat Whiskers hasn’t been eating and seems very lethargic."
Veterinarian:
"How long has this been going on? Has he been drinking water?"
Pet Owner:
"About three days now. He’s drinking a little water but refuses all food."
Veterinarian:
"Let me examine him. Has he been vomiting or showing any other symptoms?"
Pet Owner:
"Yes, he vomited yesterday morning, and he’s been hiding under the bed."
Veterinarian:
"I can feel some tenderness in his abdomen. I’d like to run some blood tests and possibly an X-ray."
Pet Owner:
"Of course, whatever he needs. How much will that cost?"
Veterinarian:
"The tests will be around £150. We should have results within a few hours, and then we can discuss treatment options."
