Le future perfect : un bilan à un moment futur
Le future perfect (will have + participe passé) décrit une action qui sera achevée avant un point précis du futur : By 2030, I will have worked here for ten years. C'est l'équivalent du futur antérieur français — un avantage pour vous, car la logique est identique : on se projette dans l'avenir et on regarde en arrière.
Les difficultés sont ailleurs. D'abord le participe passé : il faut la troisième colonne des verbes irréguliers, jamais le prétérit — « will have went » est l'erreur la plus fréquente, la forme correcte étant will have gone. Ensuite les marqueurs temporels : by, by the time, before déclenchent presque toujours ce temps, alors que les francophones tendent à utiliser un simple will. Enfin, après by the time, la subordonnée reste au présent : By the time you arrive, I will have finished (jamais « will arrive »). Dans cet exercice, repérez d'abord le point de repère futur, puis vérifiez que l'action sera terminée avant lui.
