Used to vs Would vs Past Simple — Exercice 1
Used to + base verb décrit une habitude ou un état passé qui n'existe plus (I used to live in Paris). Would + base verb exprime aussi une habitude passée, mais uniquement pour des actions répétées, jamais pour des états (we would visit grandma every Sunday — pas avec be, have, know). Le past simple convient pour des événements ponctuels ou des habitudes datées. Attention à ne pas confondre used to (habitude passée) avec be used to (être habitué à) suivi du gérondif. Cet exercice vous aide à choisir entre ces trois structures pour évoquer le passé avec précision.
