First Conditional vs Second Conditional — Exercice 3
Le first conditional (if + present simple, will + base verb) exprime une condition réelle ou probable dans le futur : If it rains, I'll stay home. Le second conditional (if + past simple, would + base verb) décrit une situation hypothétique, irréelle ou improbable au présent ou au futur : If I were rich, I would travel. La différence n'est pas temporelle mais modale : il s'agit de la probabilité perçue par le locuteur. Cet exercice vous aide à identifier le degré de réalité d'une situation et à choisir la bonne structure conditionnelle, en évitant l'erreur classique de mélanger will et would.
